What unfolded was unexpectedly wonderful. In the end, we employed those 50 people, but for way more than 50 days. That was just the beginning; we made new friends, we saw new ways of looking at things, we felt energised and excited.
This is a record of that work. It’s beautiful and invigorating and it’s all about great creative work and the power of community.
And it is also the beginning of something much bigger. The 50/50 Project has legs and in 2021 we intend to try it all again, this time paying sixth form students to create work and, in so doing, giving them valuable experience. At least 50% of the proceeds of this book will go to funding that project. (The balance will help to pay for the book.)
Please pay what you can for this book and no less than £20. £8.50 will cover the cost of printing the book and the remainder will help to fund future 50/50 Projects.
This book is a product of The Good Life Society, Glen Dye Cabins and Cottages, Some Good Ideas and The Hawarden Estate Experience.
