Designers! Makers! Graphics Whizzes! Builders!
We need you to create some magical installations for us this winter.
An open call to anyone who can dream up something and make it happen.
This is going to be good!
We are aiming to create a series of outdoor installations near to Hawarden Estate Farm Shop this winter and we want you to contribute your work.
Our aim is to have up to ten installations in our rolling parkland and possibly woodland for people to visit, free of charge, between mid November and mid February.
The loose themes for the exhibition are LIGHT and CHANGE.
So, applicants will need to consider this.
Successful applicants will be fully paid (including artist’s fee, expenses, materials etc.) for their commission and will retain all copyright. They will be expected to deliver installations to us ready to install.
Previous experience is clearly very useful but it isn’t absolutely necessary at all; you just need an idea that you can execute to a pre-agreed budget and that we can realistically install at Hawarden.
We’re looking for signs, sculptures, lights, mirrors, rocks, pieces of wood… anything. We are particularly interested in colour and positivity.
Some installations will be lit at night, others won’t.
The exhibition will run from 21 November to 15 February but we may well keep some installations in situ for longer or, indeed, move them to elsewhere at Hawarden or at Glen Dye.

Our deadline for entries has now passed.
Stay tuned for more good ideas...
About the location.
Hawarden Estate Farm Shop is one of our sister businesses.
It sits within hundreds of acres of working farmland, providing world-class food and drink via a traditional butchery, deli, café and food hall laden with the very best, locally-sourced produce – much of which is grown and produced in the orchards and fields that surround the shop.
Your work will be seen by thousands of engaged and brilliant people here every week.
